MEET THE MAKER: PILBEAM LIVING

Pioneers in curating approachable, luxury gifting, sisters Helen-Mary and Catherine Pilbeam have created one of the country’s most successful collections of home decor and gifts for simple, luxurious self-care.

Hand Towel Set $29.95, Heat Pillow $34.95

Building on a dream started by their father in 1971, both sisters bring something unique and personal to Pilbeam Living, with Catherine working on design and Helen-Mary in finance.

But Catherine says that it is their shared passion and enthusiasm that has made the business a success.

“Growing up with the same ideals and values of trust, honesty and respect as well as hard work and perseverance has been a huge advantage to our working relationship,” says Catherine.

Along with business partners David Danziger and his daughter Debra — who joined the company two years ago to support the increasing growth of the brand — Catherine says Pilbeam Living feels more like a “way of life” than work.

“We are supported by an unsheable belief in each other and our lifestyle dreams for the business. What motivates us most is nurturing our family identity, preserving our legacy for future generations and supporting the well-being and enjoyment of home life.”

This same love of family and home is reflected through their purposeful products, each one carefully designed to create a relaxed and calm home sanctuary.

Combining high quality with distinctly unique design, each product is imbued with meaning and intention to ensure it is as practical as it is indulgent.

“We are constantly inspired on our travels to create new, vibrant designs for home styling and enhanced lifestyles for those seeking wellness and well-being,” Catherine says.

“Our current Sussan Collection has a relaxed, summer feel; channeling wellness and a back-to-basics energy. It’s all about encouraging you to embrace and enjoy your own time and space at home.”

Their thoughtfully considered gift ranges also brings warmth and well-being to the lives of women through their heat pack collaboration with Sister Works and The Old Church on the Hill in Bendigo. SisterWorks is a not-for-profit social enterprise giving the most vulnerable migrant, asylum seeker and refugee women opportunities to become economically empowered.

“We have built our Pilbeam Living heat pack range around supporting women, with each heat pack carefully packed with Lupin beads by an incredible community of women at The Old Church on the Hill in Bendigo, Victoria.”

“When you buy one of our heat packs, you are not only giving the gift of comfort to loved ones, you are also supporting this local community initiative in helping women on their way towards achieving financial independence.”
